Kannum kannum kollai adithaal - movie review

As requested by Thala, a movie review.
Been a while since I posted about  movie reviews. First things first. Even more than the lead heroine Ritu Varma, the second heroine Niranjani I the likings.
Story wise, it is yet another hammered nail on the coffin of “good triumphing over bad” themed stories in movies. Crime does pays and it pays so generously well along with eye candy heroines and above all, makes a mockery of the law and justice. Rakshan, whose claim to fame was anchoring comedy competitions on Vijay TV, has a meaty role and shares roughly same amount of screen time as the main lead Dulqur (Mamooty’s son). Guess this bit of information would’ve been mentioned on every review ever written or to be written about this movie, for it was quite surprising to see him land up with such a big role, which is not just mere hero’s sidekick for comic relief, but actually a second hero role in a lighter vein to compliment the lead guy. Gautam menon, replicates the body language of a tough “cop” which he would’ve directed Kamal and Surya in his movies. But unfortunately they make a clown out of him in this movie, especially towards the end, having shown him as a strict opicer throughout. The movie shows several DIY steps on cheating people, be it via online shopping or flicking money from ATM, stealing high end merchandise from luxury cars and finally making an mini-Italian job of it in Goa. I loved the way they hack the Bentley(?) it was awesome and very original, at least for tamil movies. The thing is the movie is impartial in characterizing the heroines and marks them as devious as the male pair. Some how everyone who had seen the movie have been raving big about it and in a way they are right as well. The movie takes so many twists and turns and the attempts at heist are quite novel for tamil movie setup. In that way, it is an interesting premise and execution, without doubt. Maybe to become a successful con movie, the ways of stealing should be fresh and new, agreed on that. But without the cons getting caught and escaping so easily, makes it feel like, playing video games with cheat codes.

Gils verdict – Kandipaga one time watch and would be very refreshing for thriller buffs. But the impact on the morale of the society and for morals, leaves not much hope.

For once Gils, i have watched a movie you have reviewed. And we drove into a near by theatre impulsively and ended up with this one. worth the time and i loved every bit of it.

This one actually teaches novel ways of conning others and from social perspective, since the conmen and women never get caught or punished, this could end up being a wrong indicator, given the fact, that movies influences society greatly.

I am in love with Gautham Menon. seriously, J was giving me dirty looks when i said that to him.

If Gilus says "Kandipa one time watch", I have to. Especially since he has defied Madam's instructions and mentioned not just one, but two heroine names. Although he has chickened out of saying why "Niranjani, I the likings" :) Maybe the broom in the Gilsu household is extra heavy !

I would not mind owning a Bentley - please elaborate how to hack one .

He is really named Dulqur ? And the first time I read Rakshan, I read it as Rakshasan :)

Reader's request - Watch and review a Tamil movie released before you were born.
