Review time again :D

This was one movie i wasnt even waiting for the review. I like simbudevan's way of story telling and as a cartoonist he is top notch. I loved his political punches in his previous two movies and this movie is no exception. Lots of political overtones and undertones and in many places direct attack on U S of A. Storywise its so confusing that you can't label it as a particular category. The screenplay is funny in many places..lots of political barbs..and comic adventerous too :) Its surely a mixed bag. I wont tell u the story here :) Not that its a suspense movie or something..it would spoil the few funny scenes off their comic timing.

Just like the Pulikesi character..there are 2 Lawrence's..funny one and serious one. He imitates POTC Johnny Depp to the core and comes up trumps. With minimal facial expressions he brings out both the funny one and the serious one alive :) Padmapriya va athu!!!! avvvvvvvvv.....avanga mela mattum speciala white light vachitaangala enannu therila..Color padathula ivanga mattum Rin venmaiya teriayaranga :D So is Lakshmi Rai !!! Simbudevan has a soft corner for V.S.Raghavan i think :) Just like Pulikesi..in this movie also VS Raghavan has one scoring scene :) Sandhya has a blink and miss role. There are lot of comedians in the movie..Ramesh Khanna, Ilavarasu, Mouli, Vaiyapuri and M.S Baskar. The one who claims the honours is the translator person. His antics bring the house down. Awesome timing and performance.

The movie is funny in many places. The cartoonist in Simbudevan shows up in many places. Jaishankarpuram, Kodura villaingal thalaivan Asokan silai, veg-andi puram, Sholay puram, Methagu Amith ji...Tasmac renamed as Passmark with kudi kudiyai rape seiyum title..MGR clock tower..Carrom board where striker is played with billiards sticks..the list goes on :) And just like Pulikesi movie..he never misses a chance to poke fun at current affairs. Be it the 123 Nuclear agreement between India and US (VS Ragavan's deadpan on this scene was so funny people where actually clapping out loud!! :D )..Srilankan massacre..election propaganda pamphlets used as toilet papers...my my...that guy never misses a punch :) There are certain Gem of scenes..like the hero being faster than his shadow..which is getting spoofed all over the movie.

Only drawback of the movie is the climax and bit dragging screenplay at times. Overall its a wholesome vacation entertainer. Thoroughly enjoyable.

Blind side:

There are cetain actors whose movies i blindly trust without even checking reviews. Sandra Bullok is one of them :) Right from..While you were sleeping to Speed to Miss Congeniality..i simply love her goofiness. But this is one movie where she is a letdown. Infact i am confused as to what the jury saw in her performance to warrant an Oscar!! Story is also nothing earthshattering. Its same as "Stuart Little" where the rat character is replaced with a black boy - Big Mike. Thats it. The movie does have its heart warming moments. But its prejudiced to the core. White lady with heart of gold taking care of Black underpriviliged kid..going to the stage of adopting him. Her family of her husband, non-stop chattering kid and one cute kutti ponnu all accept the newcomer with open hands. Its an all syrupy and non realistic storyline which one would've barely noted. Give it a try when aired in SONY PIX.
