Just junior things

We were play acting some scenes last week under junior’s direction. He would ask us to close our eyes and when we open, he would reveal which character we need to enact.
“Dei appa..open your eyes”
“yes?”
“nee thaan raavan”
“ok”
“amma..nee Lakshman..naa thaan ram..paati vanthu hanuman”
“ok”
He started mimicking battle sequence with imaginary bow and arrow being fired from his arms. Being Raavan, I was “stuck” by his index finger arrow and was supposed to fall dead.
“Aioo appa..unakku sariavay panna therila..all of you close your eyes”
We all did.
“Open your eyes..ippo amma Lakshman..naan raavan..appa Ram”
Again the battle started and this time he got “hit”. He rolled eyes up and down, clutched his tummy, turned around twice and carefully fell on the sofa.
“Ipdi than vizhanum”
I never realized how far my jaw had dropped “Dei ..idhu ulaga nadipuda saami!!!!”

Night time, wifey sleeps early as she has to get up along with the sun. Me and junior, usually are out our boisterous best during night time, especially after being banished to the bed. We would form a castle/fortress with all the pillows and would form ball pit, similar to the ones at fun city and malls. Junior loves it and it gets extremely tiring within the first 5 minutes itself. Else we would be playing scrabble or word games in phone till the time wifey kicks us both to sleep. “Blippi” educational videos are the latest fav for junior. He literally swears by Blippi who is his guru. And the videos are quite enjoyable to watch as well. As I keep mentioning, probably this is the way ahead for education- videos. I could see that even product companies like Oracle, SAP have all shifted their documents to interactive video mode. Would be interesting to see how successful this approach would be. Mothama fees yethi utra poraanga for sure.

Junior has grown up so much. Wish we could see a video of his 'Raavan' character too. :D

Lovely acting of Raavan. But, whats even more lovely is the relationship you share with him :), he taking the liberty to "direct" you, calling "dei appa". But, why would he want you all to close your eyes everytime?!

Blippi videos are a sure child-puller. My son, after watching his visit to Pacific Science Center, had been insisting on visiting it. I have tried hard to distract him from Blippi's videos ever since. Now we watch Jonathan Bird's Blue world, Brave wilderness and such - you see, these are exciting and scary and would not warrant a visit :P

Before the movie review..makkalay..pona posta pathutu mothama naan blog worldlenthu apeet aagarennu santhosha patta makkaluku..ungala avlo easya nimmathia iruka udra idea lethandi :) Uncanny sonna mathiri thirutu proxy ushaar panra velaila theevirama eranga vendi thaan :D Now for the review. This is not a once-in-a-life-time-never-before-told story sort of a movie. Inum solanumna..its so simple that, i can bet you there would be atleast one friend in your gang whose life story would match frame by frame with this one. The story is so simple..dialogues so natural..no major twists (Except for the ending..grrrrrrr). Apramum intha padathula pudikara mathiri enna iruku?? Well..to me..i felt the natural nature of the movie is its strength. No hype..over the top emotions..unwanted sentiments..everything is measured. Gautam menon even pokes fun at himself at some scenes. Its a simple tamil Hindu tenant boy, who is aspiring movie director, falling in love with Mallu christian landlord's gir...

The Great gamblers

Algorithm of an arranged marriage: 1) Check the foto if like it goto step 2 2) Check the horoscope if it matches goto step 3 3) Visit the gals/guys house for free snack session and have an officially sponsored violation of privacy with the sort of questions that would've made you beet red in anger had the situation been anything otherwise. 4) If step 3 finishes satisfactorily..get the 2 bakras married!!! There are many people around who dont believe in placing bets or who consider gambling as an evil. But still they have no qualms in going in for an arranged marriage. It still beats me..how can one judge a person with just a few minute talk and above all get CONVINCED that he/she is going to be his life partner??!!! Even to select a team mate we have 4 rounds of interview!!! Before you guys jump on me..let me hide behind the disclaimer. I've absolutely no issues with this concept which has worked well for my parents..their parents..relatives...and majority of people i knew and ...
