ARR @ his best

FB has been filled with status updates of videos from MTV Unplugged 2. Especially from the yet to be released Mani Ratnam movie song "Nenjukkullae". More than that song, which sounds like a remix of "Enna ithu" from Nala Damayanthi..this one is my favorite of the lot. Loved the original version from Swades. Ennamo NRI's ellariyum ARR koovi koovi India vanthirunu koopdra mathiri oru super feel irukum. But this remixed version is simply awesome. Wait till 3:58 in video when he switches over to tamil. Goosebumps guaranteed. Awesome awesome rendition and amazing clarity. Bless you Rahman for these masterpieces.

I am wordless to describe this man. Humble genius he is. especially the tamil lyrics must be touching to NRI's like you.

Incidentally, today whole day i am listening to Vijay prakash - rehman's combo in yuvraj - manmohini more. Just listen to this song if you hav'nt mind blowing song.

I did NOT like Nenjukkule... sounds like a mish mash of every other ARR song... but then all his songs kinda grow on you with repeated listening, but this song i heard once, shared on FB cos friends wanted link and that was it...

I did see the entire show on mtv site, and well, some songs were good, some were ok.... liked Phir se udd chala unplugged version

Rommmmmmmmmba naaala pending. Atlast managed to see it. Intha padatha pathi all my friends where raving about so much that apdi enna thaan irukungara curiosityla i started reading the book first. Not sure which one came first, but somehow i felt the book was more stronger in emotions than the movie. The heroine is more sad, more bubbly, more lonely, more enthusiastic in the book than compared to the movie. How much ever i love Hillary Swank, i still would bet Meg Ryan would've done wonders to this character. I felt it was tailor made for her. Coming to the story. A cute pair of hubby (Gerald "leonoidas" Butler of "300" fame) and wife(Hillary "Million$baby" Swank)- Who fight a lot and love each other a lot more. Nadichavanga perlaam podrathukulaye hubby dies. Wife is depressed and a...

Aayirathil oruvan

Long awaited movie. The expectations went up manifold after watching the trailors. Selvaraghavan is one of the few directors whose movies people flock to see just for his skill alone. This movie was no less. Right from the title, it sounded a magnum opus. Five minutes into the movie, you can feel that.."wow..this looks different". One thing, it didnt seem your normal tamil movie at all. More like an Indiana jones movie. I can boldly put my neck on the block and say that the first half of the movie, is something you would've never seen in entire tamil cinema history. It has THE BEST adventure sequence to have been visualised EVER in a tamil movie. I was simply amazed at that stone henge sequence and the nataraja shadow. It was simply..WOW. That one single scene has so many inbuilt sequences and logic that it was awesome. The cholas creating the hurdle in such a way that you've to be in the shadow of God (Nataraja, Chola's favourite deity) else get swallowed by bott...
