Little drops of heaven..

This Diwali has been so very special for quite a few of my friends. Four of my friends had babies and all 4 are girls :) and one another friend has adopted a baby girl :)))Sooooooooo happy for them :) I think the below lines from "Abhiyum Naanum" song sweetly summarises their feelings

"Thandhaikkum Thaai
Anbu Suranthathammaa
En Thangaththai
Maarbodu Anaikkaiyiley "

(Ajcl/athivasi pls translate for Swaram :) )

I think i am way too partial when it comes to girl kids :) Would love to have one in my family soon. I wish by next year my sis also joins the list :) Me eagerly waiting for my neice/nephew.

That song which i have mentioned above from that movie is so very dear to me. I can see my dad in Prakashraj. My dad was CCP version of his character. My sis was the apple of his eye. He always respected her opinion and was so proud of her achievements. My dad never liked anyone interfering in his work. If he does any task be it cleaning the house or preparing decorations for Golu he would simply refuse any help and would always want to do things of his own, barring my sis. She was one person who had the veto over him :) She used to stay awake late night to take care of him when he was unwell. And justly, She was the one who was with him when he breathed his last while i was 300 miles away :( Till the time i came she didnt even cry and was consoling my mom and broke down only after seeing me.

Today i see the reflection of my dad in her. The same decisive nature, strictness, boldness, creativity, stubborness and friendly nature ..ditto :) My dad had lots of friends and the entire street, where we stayed, knew him personally. I used to joke that if he stood as councillor in my locality he would win hands down. Same applies to my sis. Whichever bank she gets transfered to, the staff would simply adore her and obey her command. She is the darling of my family and would always be my first kid.

I think how much ever one might debate, women have always been the strong stronger strongest of the sexes. Male egoes might take a bruising but the ultimate truth is undeniable :)

This is such a heartfelt post!
Its so nice to know they all hd daughters and kudos to the couple who went in for adoption :)

Fathers and daughters always share a special bond which is inexplicable!

N its so nice to read the last lines u have written abt women Gils! Most chauvinists would say No! Hats off!

It reminds me of the quote again 'It does not mean u have to hate men to love women' :)

Thanks for the translation Savi! Lovely lines :) Got to listen to the original track now :)

Hw nice to know the bond b/w ur Dad n Sis and one brave girl she is :) Hugs to her!

I hd written a post sometime bk too on the bond b/w fathers and daughters :)

Hey thanks for visiting my blog :) Liked this post. First guy I have seen who respects women. Great to see that. And I guess all dads are proud of their daughters. We girls are sooo close to our fathers :) Even my dad covers up if I make some blunder.

Dasvidaniya - Best goodbye ever

What makes a movie tick?? If anyone has a sureshot answer to this question every movie getting released would be a Superhit isnt it. To me whether a movie goes on to become a hit or not..if you are able to relate to it..that itself is a victory for that creator. Dasvidaniya is one such movie. It got released quite sometime back and sank without a trace for obvious reasons. Happened to watch it today and here is the review :) This movie maynot be everybody's cup of tea considering that it moves at a slow pace and doesnt have feet tapping melodies or any peppy songs. Nor does it have slap stick comedy scenes which might draw repeat audience. This is one movie best watched in DVD..at your own leisure..just soaking in its pace and relishing just the same. If its Nasseruddin shah with Vaswani 3 decades back..Vinay Pathak and Ranbir Shourie are no less a pair to match wits with them. Add in the ever dependable Rajat Kapoor you've a formidable cast. Throw in a decent script and lo..yo...

Enna koduma saaar ithu!!!!

We are a group of 5 who share our apartment. Usually me and one more guy are the last to the leave the house everyday morning. Yesterday, the one who used to leave first for office, didnt come home till 11. I went to sleep after the usual book reading session at around 11.30. When i woke up i saw it was only me who was still lying on the mat while even the guy who leaves for office along with me, had already started folding his bed!! I was feeling very tired and sleepy and was in two minds whether i should take off or go late. Still managed to crawl..brushed teeth half sleeping and swtiched on the geyser. I turned back to see, suddenly it was pitch dark outside the bathroom!! Since the light was On inside, it wasnt power cut and i came out to see what was wrong. The guy who folded his bed, had moved to the hall and was again asleep!! Then only i noticed, it was dark outside the balcony too!!! I checked the time. It was 3AM!!! BOOOOHOOOOOOO!!! SOB SOB SOB!!! That useless guy afterwards ...

Best romantic dialogues..EVER

Love and Freedom of expression in times of Sena wud've been apt title for this post :) Thought i would watch MNIK and post its review to show my protest. Since i couldn't i settled for watching re-runs of the usual mushy movies which they show year after year in Star and HBO. I was waiting for Nottinghill, Harry met sally, Autumn in NY, Sweet November, You've got mail and Pretty woman. Surprisingly except for the last one, none of the other movies featured in any of the channels!!! Maybe the channel guys themselves got bored :D Anyways..these movies have become part and parcel of my movie watching gene that i've mugged up most of their dialogues by now :D Here are some for you to cherish and enjoy. Without googling..let me see how many of these you can identify and how many more you could add :) " I love that you get cold when it's 71 degrees out, I love that it takes you an hour and a half to order a sandwich, I love that you get a little crinkle above your no...
