Aasai Aasaiyaai irukirathay...

Last weekend was a special delight for my family members. My elder cousin sis got married. It was a bit delayed one but what an occassion it turned out to be!! All our relations, many of whom werent in touch for decades turned out and we all had a blast of time. Those who had long standing family fights (like our good old KS Ravikumar movies) forgot their egoes for three days and WOW..it was Ammmmmmmaaaaaazzzzzinnnnnnnng. I met some of my cousins for the first time since they were born!! All of a sudden i was periappa/Chithappa/mama/machinan/Anna put together!!! Feels odd when i type this but when all those kids swarmed around me and were pestering for attention and ofcourse, an extra scoop of icecream :), WOW. Its a feeling very hard to put in words. My elder cousins son, in 2 days he became so dear that he simply refused to eat from anyone but me and his dad :) I had a tough time taking leave from them. How i wish the weekend went on and on. It was such a delight to see so many people and all of them related to me. I even found out a cousin who stays pretty close by to my place here in blore!! At times i feel jealous of my dad and mom imagining the kind of environment they grew up, with so many kids and relatives around. It must've been on helluva time. Even considering the emotional disturbances and ego clashes it brings along with it, i think the warmth and affection and the kind of exposure one gets far outweighs the negatives. I think thats where it presents a paradox in present day world. We need to have joint famililes but cant have them. But still even once in a while occasions like these which bring people together are nice. So makkalay, make sure u visit all your relatives functions and enjoy the little oppertunities of mingling with ur relatives. As they say,...aayiram thaan irunthalum..aayirathu onnu perusu..Huh..cudnt help that mokkai :)

Seasons under sun...

Got this as a forward. Made interesting reading and made lot of sense too :) check it out. Just two years after our marriage, hubby brought up the idea of asking mother to move from the rural hometown and spend her remaining years with us. Hubby's father passed away while he was still very young. Mother endured much hardship and struggled all on her own to provide for him, see him through to a university degree. You could say that she suffered a great deal and did everything you could expect of a woman to bring hubby to where he is today. I immediately agreed and started packing the spare room, which has a balcony facing the South to let her enjoy the sunshine and plant greenery. Hubby stood in the bright room, and suddenly just picked me up and started spinning round and round. As I begged him to put me down, he said: "Lets go fetch mother." Hubby is tall and big sized and I love to rest on his chest and enjoy the feeling that he could pick me up at any moment put the...

Best romantic dialogues..EVER

Love and Freedom of expression in times of Sena wud've been apt title for this post :) Thought i would watch MNIK and post its review to show my protest. Since i couldn't i settled for watching re-runs of the usual mushy movies which they show year after year in Star and HBO. I was waiting for Nottinghill, Harry met sally, Autumn in NY, Sweet November, You've got mail and Pretty woman. Surprisingly except for the last one, none of the other movies featured in any of the channels!!! Maybe the channel guys themselves got bored :D Anyways..these movies have become part and parcel of my movie watching gene that i've mugged up most of their dialogues by now :D Here are some for you to cherish and enjoy. Without googling..let me see how many of these you can identify and how many more you could add :) " I love that you get cold when it's 71 degrees out, I love that it takes you an hour and a half to order a sandwich, I love that you get a little crinkle above your no...
