Endgame scenario

In Avengers Endgame, post the Infinity war where in half of the population across the universe just vaporize, there is a resurrection scenario through time travel, which enables the deleted population to come back into being. Rather the scenario of Thanos clicking his fingers with Infinity Gauntlet gets avoided. Wish there is one such possibility for Covid as well. In last 6 months, as a family we lost almost one well- wisher/blood relative per month and even before the grief could settle on one loss the next one took over. It was like an never ending wave, hitting back and forth that, made us all numb literally and figuratively. Many of them we weren’t even able to see their faces one last time as there were restrictions on travel. Some of them were in regular touch with us and when they suddenly ceased to exist, it was very difficult to comprehend and accept. It is not like a file that gets accidently shift deleted or some item that gets misplaced forever from memory. All of them had been our true well-wishers and had active part in all the events of our family. Mind is still reeling and having not ventured out much in last 6 to 7 months, unable to comprehend the scenario in its entirety. The pandemic has truly played a havoc and the statistics are not just mind boggling numbers but actual people who have been impacted or no longer are alive. Some of my colleagues lost their parents and the trauma they went through to ensure proper cremation happens would’ve been as disturbing as the loss in itself!! Everyone, every single god damn person, is trying to mint money using this pandemic as a reason. Those who had actually lost their livelihood or under financial stress, either use it as a justification to loot others or simply they are boosting their margins. It was quite shameful that people use misery as a money making mechanism. Be it the hospitals, clinics, those sudden entrepreneurs who are making masks, transport, handy men every single one of them who are reported on the news as those who’ve been devoid of any income are out with a vengeance to make up for lost time and money. Not really sure if one can fault them, but as those who have not just suffered the loss of their dear ones and also being one who’ve been equally impacted by the pandemic financially, it is a double whammy.

Read as a joke somewhere that maybe the Mayan’s did a typo of 2021 as 2012!! Be careful what you wish for!

Yes, its been like this for almost everybody. But if you step back a moment, it has not been calamitous. We weren't right to assume that the carefree existence of the past , where we could do virtually anything without a second thought, was the normal state of affairs. Throughout history, there has been repeated cycles of death and destrucion followed by regeneration. That is the more normal cycle of life.

We will emerge from this pandemic in reasonable shape as well. Perhaps to appreciate what we have a little more and live a little more carefully. Human nature, probably a facet of the survival instinct, will more likely make us forget and go rapidly back to thae way we were.

Timeline by Micheal crichton

Michael Crichton along with Arthur Hailey is my favorite author. It gives immense thrill to read their books and their storylines are full of insights on the industry or genre or the institution about which the premise may be based, almost like reading a subject matter book but interestingly written in simple language which can be followed by laymen. I remember reading this book sometime around my college first year or may be bit earlier around that time. It was obviously a hard copy and was shared with me by a school mate of mine, who was also the one who introduced me to Asimov. He gave me "Prelude to Foundation" that i read for almost an year. "Timeline" was intriguing and kept me interested sheerly by its concept of time travel and i was smitten by the thought process when i read it first. This time, co-incidentally, i was also watching the movie based on the same story in parallel and somehow both the book and the adaptation were disappointing! I can understand...

Rookie - web series review

Despite this coming up on the "Next to watch" timeline, i kept skipping it for no reason. When i felt really bored last week, started watching it and after a slight binge watch, i am into season 4 in no time!!! Not that it is that interesting or racy for that matter. But there is something earthy and grounded about the whole premise which keeps you entertained!! The story is about a real time oldie who joins the LAPD as a Rookie cop, having only a decade or so for his retirement. How he comes up in grade and his team's exploits form the storyline so far. The way they've set the storyline, it makes Los Angeles seems to be the bed rock of criminals and illegal activity!! Every episode has at least one gun fight or a drug bust or a kidnapping or murder!! Of course, with the premise being based on police activities, you can't show anything else. It is like having a drama series on doctors and complaining that all episodes deals with diseases and death!! I agree! But c...

Love and Freedom of expression in times of Sena wud've been apt title for this post :) Thought i would watch MNIK and post its review to show my protest.
