Probably the first drama series that I am posting after watching all the seasons! It is under my favorite mystery/thriller genre where in 2 guys, one a good observer masquerading as a psychic and other being a pharmaceutical sales rep with a superior sense of smell, who are childhood friends, trick the Santa Barbara police department into thinking that they have psychic powers and involuntarily/voluntarily/gatecrashing the ongoing police investigations to solve crimes. The USP of the show being, the funny antics of the lead guy who plays the psychic and how his eidetic memory and keen sense of observation helps him to come out of every situation. It has very less thrill quotient, having been diluted on the comic situations, also, the analysis is wrong every first couple of times. If it is like an objective questionnaire with multiple options, the detectives select all the wrong options first and then choose the last inevitable one as the solution. The series is 8 seasons long and one common thread all throughout is the carefree/careless attitude and the kiddish antics and tantrums of the 2 detectives. In fact, it reminds of all our tamil heroes who are surrounded by friends on all scenes. Mostly they would be wastrels, leeching on their friends/parents/lover, but would be loved by all for having a heart of gold!! Ditto goes for the psychic hero in this series. All he does is eat and sleep when he has no murder to solve. The heroine, the police detective, looks a million bucks cute. She has been specifically chosen on this team going by her young girlish looks I guess as it goes with the theme of the casting. The series finale was very touching and was almost like a tamil movie playing with foreigners and English subtitles. I would pick Monk, Mentalist and even Dr.House over this any day for the thrill quotient. But it does grows on you in its own idiotically funny way.
Got this as a forward. Made interesting reading and made lot of sense too :) check it out. Just two years after our marriage, hubby brought up the idea of asking mother to move from the rural hometown and spend her remaining years with us. Hubby's father passed away while he was still very young. Mother endured much hardship and struggled all on her own to provide for him, see him through to a university degree. You could say that she suffered a great deal and did everything you could expect of a woman to bring hubby to where he is today. I immediately agreed and started packing the spare room, which has a balcony facing the South to let her enjoy the sunshine and plant greenery. Hubby stood in the bright room, and suddenly just picked me up and started spinning round and round. As I begged him to put me down, he said: "Lets go fetch mother." Hubby is tall and big sized and I love to rest on his chest and enjoy the feeling that he could pick me up at any moment put the...
