Just Junior things

At times Junior stumps you with the most simplest of actions.

With all the temples being closed or restrictedly made available, it has been a really long while since any of us went to temple. And junior has been on absolute house arrest for last 6 months not venturing any where beyond the main gate. In fact very rarely only he even steps out of the house. Going to be real tough when the schools re-open. After a really long while, my sister decided to take him out for a near by Pillayaar temple. He was super excited and immediately wore a mask and got dressed. Usually when he take him to temple or even at home, while praying will always ask him to pray that, he should eat well, behave properly and shouldn’t beat anyone etc. Today after coming from temple he was jumping around as usual, having been let out of the cage after half an year. He was immediately explaining what he did and how the trip was to anyone who wasn’t part of the troupe. I asked him what did he pray to god.

He said “Thank you”

“Illapa..enna pray panna”

“Thank you sonnen”

I thought he was getting confused over the question and asked “vera enna sonna”

“Thanks than sonnen” came the response.

I became more curious and asked “edhukupa thanks sonna?”

“ummachi vanthu daily good food thararla..adhaan”

That kannula jalam moment :)

Indeed a moment . Out of the mouths of children come the wisest of sayings.

By the way asking him to pray that, he should eat well, behave properly etc is fair. But why on earth "shouldn’t beat anyone" ????

Timeline by Micheal crichton

Michael Crichton along with Arthur Hailey is my favorite author. It gives immense thrill to read their books and their storylines are full of insights on the industry or genre or the institution about which the premise may be based, almost like reading a subject matter book but interestingly written in simple language which can be followed by laymen. I remember reading this book sometime around my college first year or may be bit earlier around that time. It was obviously a hard copy and was shared with me by a school mate of mine, who was also the one who introduced me to Asimov. He gave me "Prelude to Foundation" that i read for almost an year. "Timeline" was intriguing and kept me interested sheerly by its concept of time travel and i was smitten by the thought process when i read it first. This time, co-incidentally, i was also watching the movie based on the same story in parallel and somehow both the book and the adaptation were disappointing! I can understand...

Best romantic dialogues..EVER

Love and Freedom of expression in times of Sena wud've been apt title for this post :) Thought i would watch MNIK and post its review to show my protest. Since i couldn't i settled for watching re-runs of the usual mushy movies which they show year after year in Star and HBO. I was waiting for Nottinghill, Harry met sally, Autumn in NY, Sweet November, You've got mail and Pretty woman. Surprisingly except for the last one, none of the other movies featured in any of the channels!!! Maybe the channel guys themselves got bored :D Anyways..these movies have become part and parcel of my movie watching gene that i've mugged up most of their dialogues by now :D Here are some for you to cherish and enjoy. Without googling..let me see how many of these you can identify and how many more you could add :) " I love that you get cold when it's 71 degrees out, I love that it takes you an hour and a half to order a sandwich, I love that you get a little crinkle above your no...

Enna koduma saaar ithu!!!!

We are a group of 5 who share our apartment. Usually me and one more guy are the last to the leave the house everyday morning. Yesterday, the one who used to leave first for office, didnt come home till 11. I went to sleep after the usual book reading session at around 11.30. When i woke up i saw it was only me who was still lying on the mat while even the guy who leaves for office along with me, had already started folding his bed!! I was feeling very tired and sleepy and was in two minds whether i should take off or go late. Still managed to crawl..brushed teeth half sleeping and swtiched on the geyser. I turned back to see, suddenly it was pitch dark outside the bathroom!! Since the light was On inside, it wasnt power cut and i came out to see what was wrong. The guy who folded his bed, had moved to the hall and was again asleep!! Then only i noticed, it was dark outside the balcony too!!! I checked the time. It was 3AM!!! BOOOOHOOOOOOO!!! SOB SOB SOB!!! That useless guy afterwards ...
