BLACK

I am lost for words...mind has gone numb...somehow feel violated...what a powerful performance...watta show it was...dint knew how two hours flew...got hooked onto it for every single second of it...an amazing experience...cinema is a powerful medium..had a hearty experience....never have i became this serious after watching a movie...and never had the hangover lasted this long...if its a comedy u relate the jokes, repeat them and relive the fun moments...but movies of this sort make u sit up and something awakes in u and refuses to lie down for a while...BLACK did it for me...i have heard a lot abt it...bt never had the patience to see it...my friends suggested never to try it for its very sad and not my kind of movie...i was browsing thru the channels and found this one running in one of them...out of curiosity stayed on tht channel for a while and the vigil ended two hours later...i want to wear a hat and take it off for each and every single actor in tht movie...especially tht gal...the young rani mukerji..i cudnt help but watch teary eyed in the scene where she overcomes the demons insider her and feels the water in gay abandon...she mouths the word mom first and the eager love hungry look in her dads face to hear her calling him papa....the sudden rush of eagerness to learn new words....wow..watta performance and watta scene...Amitabh bacchan has lived the role...guess no one cud've justified it better...It might have been inspired by Helen keller...I can understand and appreciate the efforts put in by rani mukerji...no one can deny the applause due to her...but i am dumbfounded by tht lil kids performance who is the young rani...was tht acting or real?!! many wud've had this question for mr.Bhansali...in the scene where she fights with amitabh over the dinner table and the water fountain scene...well....i can bet tht the tears on Amitabhs eyes wudn't have been glycerine induced...if amitabh was mr.original who was distant second to the lil gal in the first half...he comes close second to the gale force called rani in the second half...the scene where they rush to the college happily laafing at the foolishness of rani insisting on goin on the opposite direction...BLACK humour, it is...the scene where she protests her teacher..voicing out..err..i mean..feeling out her opinion thru amitabh sayin for dreaming u dnt need eyes..u dnt need to c anything..for she cant see but still has dreams ...dream filled heart...its almost impossible to imagine the man behind this...mr.SL Bhansali...he IS a showman...no doubt..but wat prompted him to make this movie...thts something which would make interesting reading i guess...not to forget the role of Ravi K chandrans camera work...i can understand why rani mukerji insisted on him behind the camera...certain scenes are visual delights which even a layman like me could appreciate...background score is another strength to the movie which lifts it to international level...I hate BLACK for making me cry...I hate BLACK for making me feel so emotional...I hate BLACK for making me realise how much people struggle to get things which i take for granted as basics...OSCAR or no oscar...in my heart BLACK has made an indelible impact

dude :(

somehow i felt the movie as a bit too cliched..
and the camera work seems to have been over-worked.. (not really natural, though aesthetic)
somehow i felt this movie is below-par..

hmm..therilada...i found the movie very picturesque...the college looks rt out of greeting card...and as u said...its a movie which balances between veering off into a documentary mode and getting branded as cliched...

I have not seen the movie as i thought it would make me cry. after reading your post I feel like seeing it.

I am doing scribing work for visually challenged people for the last 5 years, I can understand when you say

" how much people struggle to get things which i take for granted as basics..."

Yes we really take things for granted. The students I meet dont even know what color the sky is.. for them vijayakanth is the best actor because of his voice, they dont know the difference between simran and jyothika since the dubbing voice is the same.

But I think they do live thier own life with happiness which we cant imagine.

Seasons under sun...

Got this as a forward. Made interesting reading and made lot of sense too :) check it out. Just two years after our marriage, hubby brought up the idea of asking mother to move from the rural hometown and spend her remaining years with us. Hubby's father passed away while he was still very young. Mother endured much hardship and struggled all on her own to provide for him, see him through to a university degree. You could say that she suffered a great deal and did everything you could expect of a woman to bring hubby to where he is today. I immediately agreed and started packing the spare room, which has a balcony facing the South to let her enjoy the sunshine and plant greenery. Hubby stood in the bright room, and suddenly just picked me up and started spinning round and round. As I begged him to put me down, he said: "Lets go fetch mother." Hubby is tall and big sized and I love to rest on his chest and enjoy the feeling that he could pick me up at any moment put the...

After seeing "Fight Club"..my first reaction was ..."huh, What a movie??!@#$%". A little later i was wondering whats that movie was actually about. One meek guy..tired of his boring life, which is so boring that he cant even sleep, meets an interesting character who shows him a new world of thrills and action. And lo behold..arises a new mighty meek. That same fateful night of the meeting, the meek's house blows up. He is left stranded on the streets. He calls up his new friend and meets him on a bar. After a couple of drinks, the new friend invites him to his house but on a condition that they should have a fight before that. A bloody fisty and feisty fight ensues after which the meek settles with the new guy in his house. Many onlookers who witness the fight get enthralled with the idea of the fight and soon an underground club of fighters is formed - The Fight club. Rule no. 1 of fight club, You shouldn't discuss about it to anyone. Rule no.2 of fight clu...
