Timely tales

There was this Facebook post, that I read a while back, almost a month has passed. But still it has been ringing on my mind. It was a short story about a family, where the elder son who is married and has 2 kids, not just takes care of his ailing mom, but also takes care of his younger sister who is widowed (or divorcee not sure). There is this elder sister of him, who eloped to get married to someone from other caste. That leads to lot of issues in his second sister getting married and problems for him also to get a wife. Despite all this, he manages the entire household on his single income. He takes loan to do all “seer” properly for his sister and is always on debt. Typical middle class family and typical problems faced by middle class. One fine day the elder sister comes to his house to see the mom. She wants to invite them for her daughter’s wedding. All things she did in the past are forgotten the very instant by the mom, who not only embraces her back, but also gives the grandd...

Sapiens - book review

Not many books make you go Wow for every single page you read. Ever since I started “Sapiens” it has been a series of wonderment that are never ending!!! How can a book  be so organized and so matter of fact, for a topic that is all encompassing the human kind!! Wonder how many years the author took to write this book and the editor deserves a Pulitzer. I am halfway through and I literally have to force myself to logoff from the book, at the risk of missing my stopping. If anyone has a mind and wants it to get blown, this would be the book. Period. Personally, I don’t read too many books and from what I’ve read this is by far the best of the lot. Whenever I read any chapter the next minute I want to write a post about it. Every single chapter is having so much content and so much of information to analyse and discuss that, this book deserves a blogspot of its own!! I could relate to so many analogies, thought processes, facts and information mentioned on the book and the inferences...

Suits - drama series

Have started watching Suits and before I could realize it had became the last activity for the night before I sleep. Already into the 5th season and loving every single episode of it. Inarguably, the best part of subscribing to Amazon prime. When I started watching the series, was wondering how the hell they recreate such a make believe world of Lawyers. Every one strutted around in “suits” as per the titles, which is local lingo for lawyers I guess. And ladies had wraparound formals in similar manner. But the walk and body posturing where all the same, as if some starched peacock is doing military rounds. Even before I could realize, I’ve began to despise the arrogance of Harvey Specter who is the main hero and the vulnerable yet brilliant Mike Ross, the primary reason why the series went into 5th season (Enda dei..ivan fraud nu ella charactersum therinjaparumum 5 season epdida oatineenga!!). One of the leading lady, Rachel Zane (Megan Markle) has already become the queen of the world...

New year.. New post

Amazing start to 2020. Day one was one of the most peaceful days and from day 2 all hell broke loose. So much of pandemonium and chaos that, it looks like a really long year up ahead, not considering the extra day as it is. Dec 31 was a throwback to the one I had in US. Had a relaxed trip to an aquarium and snow kingdom. The last time I ever was out on new year’s eve was 7 years back. And probably the only ever time as well. My routine would always be to laze at home and herald the year with a movie. This time it was quite different but nevertheless quite enjoyable as well. In my present setup, I get to interact with lots and lots of people on a daily basis. Beyond a point of time, it is the same set that I am interacting with. But still, for someone who rarely talks, it is a whole new experience for me and the most vulnerable area for me, social skills, is put under severe test. I am very poor at having conversations. Period. Is there something I have done to improve this? Nothing tha...
