Just junior things

There is a scene in "Abhiyum naanum" movie wherein, when Prakash raj enters the house, he will see a beggar sitting inside. Looking at his wife, he will playfully ask is that her relative for which she will glare at him angrily and storm away from that place asking him to check with his daughter. Apparently that kid would've brought that beggar "uncle" home for she would've felt bad at this state. Out of love for her, Prakash raj will allow that person to stay with them who literally becomes man friday for them. Innum andha extreme pogalainalum something similar happened sometime back.

Junior's pickup van comes near a roundtana where there is an auto stand as well. One day he had asked his mother where is the uncle with 2 dogs who apparently had been missing for couple of days. Neither her nor me had even noted that there was a guy, leave alone having two dogs ( kandipa dogs pathirupen nenakren sheerly out of fear for them!! ). When he kept asking about that missing person, the drivers at the auto stand who know junior told him that they will check his whereabouts for they are also not aware of him. After couple of days, while we were going out, one of the drivers from the roundtana, called junior. I was wondering who was that guy and why is he calling junior, when he explained that the auto uncle is from the same stand where he waits to board his van. He told junior that the missing "uncle" is now back and since he was not keeping well had been staying somewhere else it seems. The auto driver looked at me for a second and said "nalla paiyan sir" nodding at junior and went.

I was stunned and stood rooted for a moment! Felt so ashamed for being what they call blind despite having eye sight!! I even was watchful of the dogs but never saw the guy sitting beside them. Mentally i've designated such characters as drunkards or simply trouble but in the eyes of a kid, they are no different than the next person who needed help!!! The auto stand people had actually told the "missing uncle" about this and seems that guy just laughed. If at all we arrive bit late for the van, they hold the van for junior and once the van driver left before we could board and one of the auto driver seeing us coming late, picked junior up and dropped at school. The charge was nominal as well!!!

The other time junior stumped me was when i was checking with him about happenings in school. Previously there used to be instances of bullying and junior being a soft target would often come home sad and at times crying. Off late there are not many such complaints and when i was asking about those kids he simply quoted back saying "nandri marapathu nandrandru nandrallathu andre marapathu nandru". It is a thriukural that roughly means, if something is bad, it is not worth remembering and we should only carry forward good thoughts and deeds. It might sound cheesy coming from a kid but the fact that he had recited that as part of the daily kural thing during assembly and even related that kural for a response to my question ...well you should've seen the look on wifey's face. Overa pesaaan saar ivan!!!

The best of the lot to me personally was when he was insisting on me reading his English test review paper. I could see he got good marks and was doing something else, when he repeatedly asked me to check out a section where they've to give examples for adjectives and asked me to see his response for "precious". He had written "I was always precious for my dad". My first reaction was to correct it as "am always" removing "was" and next immediate reaction was to take a pic of that and show it to wifey with an "ahem". Ipovay nalla maska adika sollikuduthu keduthu vachiruken nu comment vandhalum, silapala jealousy irukathaan seiyumngarathala, solpa adjust maadi-fied.
