Just junior things

I have always wondered how home schooling works as a concept. It is something that is quite common in Western nations I guess and have always wanted to know how those leisurely schooled kids will fare against our factory assembled ones, who are drilled for marks from act one day one class one. With corona causing the havoc that it can possibly can, junior hasn’t attended school since last 2 years. Now with plans of reopening taking shape much more concretely, we are actually tensed how he will cope up with that setup. We may not be alone in this ship though, with many anxious parents unable to decide between keeping their kids at home against making them more adaptable to regular setup. One thing that I loved about this whole thing is having been able to spend so much time with junior, who calls me his “best bro” and “friend” 😊😊. I am his go-to-play person who teaches naughty things and pranks. One day while attending online class along with him noticed some of his classmates names and was making some comments about them. I “jokingly”read Navya as Navy-a, Aarna as “arai anna”, Ishvak as “Meswak”. Junior has been blackmailing me that, he will call these kids by these nick names once he goes to school and will tell his class teacher that I only taught him!!! Veetla ammani was super angry and gave me a good earful that I am setting him up for trouble in class and if at all the call comes from school I only have to take care!! Having accustomed to a steady diet of spiderman comics and movies, he is now a self-proclaimed expert on the superhero trivia!! After watching with him only I got to know that Ultimate spiderman, Spectacular spiderman, the one who comes on Avengers all carry different uniforms. And there are so many other characters who are apparently regulars across the series. Junior knows them by heart, by episode, by color and every other “by” possible!!. I didn’t realize how he thinks of all of us till the below conversation happened.

One day, while walking the terrace with his mom, he met the neighbor kids, who had recently shifted here. Junior immediately introduced himself, all of us, his spiderman and everything under the sun about him and his life. He invited the kids to our home.

“Enga veetuku velayada varia.”

“En amma kita than kekanum. Amma strictu..appa romba strictu..enga veetla elarum strictu”

“Enga veetla konjam strict aana romba fun”

I looked at wifey and we both were so happy as “Son certified joy developers” 😊

Rudhra Veenai

Took binge watching to a whole new level and completed Rudhra Veenai series in a week's time :) The best part of the lot being, i didnt see the last episode to know the ending, despite the craving urge right from midway onto the series. Yay to that :)  The story by Indira Soundrarajan, made into drama series by Radaan have been on my radar for few years now and thanks to my blog mate and good friend Brags, managed to get hold of the series. For long my complaint against tamil series is that they are in no league to match the thrill element of the english drama series. There are some handful of good comedy series like Flight 171, Ramany vs Ramany but none to match a good suspense thriller till i stumbled on the Marmadesam series. Read in some survey that they've been voted as the best ever tamil series of the 90's. Not sure on the authenticity, but they would definitely worth any such accolades. Marmadesam series where way too ahead of their time for any drama series is my...
