Jaane tu ya jaane na

College based stories neriaaaaaaaaa vanthalum, its always the treatment which makes the movie special.JTYJN is one such movie. Story perusa onumila, namma "Azhagiya Theeye"voda Opening and narrationa sutrukanga with Prashanth Shalini's "Piryaatha Varam" vendum premise. But the screenplay and songs makes allllll the difference.

Each character in the gang, though looking quite old for college goers expect for the hero (Even Jenilia looks her age in some scenes. But WHO CARES!!), makes a mark for themselves. Overa scene podra antha Devadarshini charactera vara lady, avaloda mokka boyfriend, sottai thalaila wig maatikitu vara aalu and avan girlfrienda vara lady (though she does looks like Reese Witherspoon in some weird angles!!) everyone are interestingly set.

Hero, Imran, Aamiroda cousingara peria baaratha konjam easyavay handle panrar. Though at times he looks lot more casual even in seriously emotional scenes, apart from that, he has a nervous energy which carries him off. I love the scene where he fends off a fight and ends up having coke at the other guys account. Awesome. Genelia rules with her eyes and smile. Vera etha note panna poranga makkal, when you've the most attractive sozhi pal siripu with such beautiful doe like eyes. Nasserduin shah does a Nasserudin hodja. And the tasks they assign to become a rajput- sounds stupid yet rollickingly done. Even Arbaaz and sohail look good in their 5 min role.

Sila dialogueslam paduthula nachunu iruku. After Pappu cant dance song (my personal favourite..crazy crazy song) Genilia visits Imran's home wondering how their college life rushed past without even them noticing for which Imrans mom cheekily replies , "Over the phone Beta, Over the phone". If you dont watch for it you might actually miss it. But thats the dialogue which would be the punchline for the parents to be, going forward. Semma cute and CHEEKY and so very original :)Another gem is at the police station. When the hero gets released, he wonders, how to reach the airport as there would be a bandh call beginning from midnight. He would wonder aloud "oho..its 12 'O clock"..for which Arbaz replies.."kyun tu cindrella ho kya"...again its a blink-and-miss masterpiece. Theaterla paatha maybe it might drown in the laughter :)

First halfleye "Aditi" song, "pappu" song and title track moonumay vanthruthu and being the funnier part, it makes second half dragging. Climax might have been the most cinematic but even that is cute in a way. Hero being called "rats" and heroine "meow" ...if it rings any bell, me the not responsible ;)

Watch the movie, if you are game for solid timepass and if youth based movies are your cuppa coke. Dont watch it alone. Its a movie you would enjoy the most with your friends and there would be definitely lot of tortoise coils running on ur mind, reminding you of the jolly times you had with your friends. And it sort of justifies my post ;)

This is not a once-in-a-life-time-never-before-told story sort of a movie. Inum solanumna..its so simple that, i can bet you there would be atleast one friend in your gang whose life story would match frame by frame with this one. The story is so simple..dialogues so natural..no major twists (Except for the ending..grrrrrrr). Apramum intha padathula pudikara mathiri enna iruku?? Well..to me..i felt the natural nature of the movie is its strength. No hype..over the top emotions..unwanted sentiments..everything is measured. Gautam menon even pokes fun at himself at some scenes. Its a simple tamil Hindu tenant boy, who is aspiring movie director, falling in love with Mallu christian landlord's gir...

The Great gamblers

Algorithm of an arranged marriage: 1) Check the foto if like it goto step 2 2) Check the horoscope if it matches goto step 3 3) Visit the gals/guys house for free snack session and have an officially sponsored violation of privacy with the sort of questions that would've made you beet red in anger had the situation been anything otherwise. 4) If step 3 finishes satisfactorily..get the 2 bakras married!!! There are many people around who dont believe in placing bets or who consider gambling as an evil. But still they have no qualms in going in for an arranged marriage. It still beats me..how can one judge a person with just a few minute talk and above all get CONVINCED that he/she is going to be his life partner??!!! Even to select a team mate we have 4 rounds of interview!!! Before you guys jump on me..let me hide behind the disclaimer. I've absolutely no issues with this concept which has worked well for my parents..their parents..relatives...and majority of people i knew and ...
