Just junior things

Since there aren't any kids of his age in our apartment me and junior are our playmates. Be it board games or any other games, more often than not we are the partners and competitors. Instead of just forming the regular rules, i often try to make it "funny" (also read as antics that will make wifey mad with rage). Since junior is keen to study about geography (guess it comes with this age) we will play mock quiz with each other on countries/capitals, sobriquets and whatever little else i played with my friends during school days. Wifey likes abbreviations and remembering their full forms. Apparently, one day she was asking for the expansion of DRDO for which junior has responded "Dr.Dolittle"!!! Sathiyama idhu naan solli tharala. But the moment he started laughing at his own version of the full form, wifey turned beet red in color and started scolding (not him...but me). She started complaining that junior is not taking anything serious and is always trying to make fun of things. Seri..idhukum enakkum enna sambandham nu i was muzhiching for which she responded to my mind voice query that, i was the one who had been spoling him like this with all mokka quips. I was quite sure of the answer still was curious to know what else has caused that outburst. Incidentally, junior is being taught classical music and his online teacher is very impressed with his renditions and always encourages him to practice more at home, for the class is just for 90 minutes a week. While practicing some rage/swara/or whatever else it is called, junior started laughing suddenly and when wifey was looking perplexed he was saying that she said "Saa nee". Again..i am the appavi here for i didn't even when this happened. but wifey was dead sure that i was the one who had been feeding junior all these kind of nakkal comments and was seriously worried if he would take anything serious!! Naan paatukka sivanaynu irunthaalum..ivan summa illama enna maati udraan yuvar aanar. One urupidiana thing that happened recently was that he has started reading Tintin and has become quite fond of all the characters, especially captain Haddock and his blabbering expletives. Idhu summa ilama school la poitu "billions of barncales" "ectopasm" nu solli vaikka, enga areala endha librarilayum ipo tintin illa. Motha classum Titntin paithiyam pudichi suthitrukunglam!!

Note to Madam

Please do not dampen Junior's enthusiasm for making fun. You are absolutely right in that it is all handed down from Gilsu. But you see, this is an absolutely unique quality that very few people in the world have. It is to be treasured. There are enough boring people who are dead serious, are no fun at all, and plodding along in life. What's the point ? Instead Junior can become the person everybody loves to be with, just like his father. If Gilsu didn't expand DRDO as Dr Dolittle, we would not read even one post of his. Instread he has legions of followers who hang on to every word of his for more than a decade !!

Note to Gilsu

Junior posts are the best !

2 phone calls and an amazing week...

Its amazing how much a voice can convey..apart from whats being said. In past 2 weeks i had 2 such conversations over phone which made me feel like...WOW!! First one was more emotional and sentimental at the same time very positive and heartwarming. The distance of several thousand kilometers was nonexistent for the entire duration of the call and even after that call it still feels the same. I am happy for the day i got introduced to "People Network" through which we made our acquaintance and me the forever greedy would pray for more such days. What began as a call to console soon turned out to be the best motivational talk i ever had. That person recounted incidents from their personal life and how they overcame it to be what they are now. It was touching and a rare gesture that i felt so happy that they were kind enough to share it with me. It immediately shook me out of my gloom and i was soon back to normal. I am indebted to that person for that call and for the support ...
