Just junior things
Junior never ceases to amaze me with his sense of timing. At times for the sheer innocence of it or for the absolute honesty and conviction with which he says and does things, it makes me happy and a proud parent, inherently feeling super embarrassed thinking how I was at his age!! Couple of days back, while playing on the school slide, he was bitten by a red ant. The ant had plunged its stingers on his right index finger and not knowing how to remove it from his hand, by the time it did fall off, the infection had already spread over his entire arm, which was turning beet red in color, the finger already swollen to twice its size. Before running to his mom crying, junior ran back to the slide, said something to his friends and came back running and crying. After he got consoled a bit, she asked him why he went back to slide, thinking he might have gone to beat the ant. He said, he went back to warn his friends who were playing on the slide and had asked them to be careful!!!! She was stunned by the response and when she narrated this to me, I asked junior about the same. He simply said in a matter-of-fact tone that, it was paining terribly, and he didn’t want his friends to be affected by the same. The other incident happened few weeks before when he came back all serious from shopping with his mom. Looking at him agitated I thought maybe his mom didn’t get him what he asked for and inquired what had happened. He said, while at the shop, the akka at the counter was surrounded by trillions and trillions of people who were shouting at her for delaying their bill payments. He felt bad for the akka as everyone were demanding like kings and scolding her for being slow as she was looking scared and tired. The best part was what he said after that. He was almost in tears when he said that he realized that moment how it was bad to demand things and said sorry to me for always demanding me to play with him!!! He said going forward he wouldn’t be so impolite!! I was clueless for a response and was left wondering when he became so mature from a regular 7-year-old!! Junior takes pride in being a good host and is a show man when it comes to performing whatever he knows for his audience. People who visit us get impressed and think we may have something to do about his behavior. In all honesty, I can safely say if not for his mom, it is 100% his original character with no influence from my end, about which I am absolutely proud : )

You have much to be proud of, Gils!!
Actually, Gilsu is not doing himself justice. Junior didn't get his qualities in a vacuum. Gilsu's heart is golden too. One day, 20 years from now, when Junior writes his own blog, he will write such a post on our good Gilsu.
And can't believe junior is seven already!
