Just junior things

“Why do bees hum”

This is one question that would set our collective household into a sigh and smile at the same time. Junior has taken to joke telling in a big way and is on a mokka joke inventing spree at present. Every time we sit together for a story telling session, he would’ve only one demand – the story should be funny. If he is not satisfied with the jokes he would ask me to continue till he gets at least one satisfactory laugh. This has been the tradition for last couple of years and he will laugh at my mokka jokes so much that I’ve been named the “jokester” (recently renamed as “mokkaster”) of the house. Looking at his eagerness to tell jokes, I showed him some from “Champak” magazine on the net. Unfortunately couldn’t find much about that famed magazine from my childhood. But of the dozen odd jokes that I read to him, he picked a couple that he was able to understand and was easier to repeat as well. He even started making out his own jokes similar to what he read on the book, like “Why is a time table called so”. He is not able to bring out a punch line of a response but is already on the mend towards making better jokes. He has an avenger set comprising of Hulk, Thor, Captain America, Ironman and by mistake they added Superman into the mix. The bunch has been renamed as Mahabharatha characters with Hulk renamed as Bheema, Thor – Arjuna, Captain America – Sahadeva, Superman being the odd one out is Duriyodhana. With no Nakula in the mix, he has added ant-man for that role who has been rechristened as Na-Kulla by yours truly. Since he always insists on the story being funny, I’ve made Bheema’s character as an amalgamation of Maya Bazaar Ranga rao, merged with Jughead jones from Archie comics, mainly focusing on their appetite for eating non-stop. Junior loves the character so much that, he has almost forgotten the original characterization of Bheema!! We do voiceovers of how each character will behave in his class room, as fellow class mates, troubling teachers. We churn out different episodes, some based on original version of mahabratha and some on real time situation of a household hosting 105 kids!!! Imagine the chaos in bathrooms, dining halls, wardrobes, commute to school, playground punts and finally the sheer amount of real estate needed to board and lodge this many kids. Include the servant list, chefs, provisions you got your deal done. As much as him or possibly more, I love “sharpening” my mokkais along with him and his inputs and much to the chagrin of wifey, she is already worried that junior is becoming a much sharper mokkaster than me 😃

Coming back to the question – Why do bees hum? Because they forgot the lyrics. He actually came up on his own with this one and I am super proud!!

Hello Mokkaster ! I couldn't have come up with that superb name. Now, its obvious that the talent for "Mokkaism" flows in the genes.

We have already groaned profusely at Gilsu's mokkais. I shudder to think of the day when Junior starts his own blog :):):)
